Today may be short and sweet as I have been introduced to yet another show I must add to my watch list, Fringe. It’s a sci-fi meets a sort of present day, a parallel universe with fancier technology, if you will. I just watched the pilot episode earlier today, so you know what that means – I’ll be watching all of season one in 48-72 hours. Thank you Netflix. I will ignore my children, not bathe, and quite possibly not sleep.
I’m kidding, I’ll totally shower.
I do appreciate the benefit of discovering a “new” show to watch after it’s been out for a few years as there are many episodes at my disposal rather than waiting a week. I feel like I’m becoming a TV junkie as my list continues to grow every year. It’s mostly fantasy-type shows like Once Upon a Time, Grimm, and Sleepy Hollow…and Dracula (swoon), but then there’s the drama Revenge.
The fictional shows have that little something I truly appreciate, a plot-line derived from literature, Grimm Fairy Tales, the Legend of Sleepy Hollow, and of course, Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Revenge is just cool because Emily Thorne is rather bad-ass. In fact, the women in all of the shows I watch are pretty fierce and take charge, all while remaining lady-like.
Oh, and how can I forget Mad Men and Downton Abbey? Maybe the Husband is right, I am dominating the DVR these days. I do have my occasional marathons with American Pickers, but that’s about a reality TV as I get. Wait, I also like Top Gear also on the History Channel. That’s not too bad, right? Tanner Foust is a little eye-candy, no? Quality programming if you ask me.
I’m sure there are so many shows I’m missing out on, but as you can see my TV tray is full. However, if you are compelled to share a program you know I’ll like based on these, do tell.
